The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Office of Continuing Medical Education (UPenn CME) respects and values your privacy and the confidentiality of the information you choose to share with us. We are committed to protection of this information and will assure your privacy when participating in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities on our Web site.
All personally identifiable information (any information by which you can be identified) will only be used to support your relationship with UPenn CME and submission of your data to CMS for the PQRI program. We do automatically collect Internet tracking information.
Additionally, in our PQRI reporting system, and if you provide your permission to do so, we will, on your behalf, provide your Medicare identification information and the anonymous information you provide on selected performance measures to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and only to CMS and not to other for the sole purpose of such PQRI reporting. We will not ask you about, we will not collect information, and we will not distribute information on any individually identifiable patients.
What we collect
Information collected when you are visiting our Web site: We may collect the following information:

Information collected when you register: If you decide to register for one of our PQRI registry and/or continuous professional development activities, we will collect personal information that you voluntarily share with us. This information is transferred using secure encryption technology.
In addition to using this data for registration and entry into our database, we may use this information to contact you with email updates when new material is posted to the site. We will only contact you if you indicate that you want to be notified. If you want to change your status regarding this notification at a later time, you can change it yourself on the registration page or you can contact us to change it.
We keep confidential any personal information that you provide to us. This information includes your name, postal and email addresses, and telephone number. The personal information you provide is stored in a secure location and only authorized people are able to access it. We do not share our registrants' information with other institutions, except as may be required by law.
If a fee is charged and registrants can pay online, we ask for credit card information. These transactions are encrypted before transmission over the Internet.
Information collected when you participate in a UPenn CME activity: We may ask participants to complete one or more tests of knowledge and we ask them to evaluate the CME activity providing feedback to us on the educational value of the activity.
How we use it
UPenn CME uses your information to better understand your needs and provide you with better service. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a transaction, to communicate back to you, to update you on service and benefits, and to personalize our web site for you.
Who we share it with
UPenn CME will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. Unless we have your permission or are required by law, we will only share the personal data you provide online with other CME entities and/or business partners who are acting on our behalf to complete the activities described above.
